French Toast

Ingredients

  • 8 slices challah or texas toast bread, left out for a bit to dry
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 4 tbsp melted butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup, warmed

Instructions

  • Step 1

    In a small bowl, combine cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar
  • Step 2

    Whisk together cinnamon mixture, eggs, milk, and vanilla and pour into a shallow container
  • Step 3

    In a 10-inch or 12-inch skillet, melt butter over medium heat
  • Step 4

    Dip bread in mixture, shake off excess, and cook for 4-5 minutes per side
